Rules and tips

How to play Spider Solitaire

Build down by rank. Only same-suit runs move together; a complete same-suit run from king to ace leaves the board.

How to play

  1. Two decks are dealt into ten columns.
  2. Build down by rank, mixing suits only when necessary.
  3. Move complete descending runs only when every card shares a suit.
  4. Fill every empty column before dealing a new row.
  5. Complete and remove eight suited king-to-ace runs.

Strategy tips

  • Make same-suit runs whenever possible.
  • Expose hidden cards before dealing another row.
  • Create an empty column and protect it as working space.
  • Treat mixed runs as temporary debt.
