How to play Klondike Solitaire

Build tableau columns down in alternating colours. Only kings may enter empty columns; foundations build up by suit.

How to play

  1. Deal seven tableau columns with only the top card face up.
  2. Move cards or ordered runs down in alternating colours.
  3. Build each foundation from ace to king in the same suit.
  4. Draw three cards from the stock when the tableau stalls.
  5. Win by moving all 52 cards to the foundations.

Strategy tips

  • Prioritise moves that reveal face-down cards.
  • Keep an empty column for a useful king or king-led run.
  • Do not rush medium cards to the foundations when they are still useful in the tableau.
  • Use undo to explore a line without losing the deal.
