How to play FreeCell

Build down in alternating colours, use four free cells as temporary storage and build foundations up by suit.

How to play

  1. All 52 cards are dealt face up into eight columns.
  2. Move cards down in alternating colours.
  3. Store one card in each free cell.
  4. Use empty columns to move longer sequences.
  5. Build all four foundations from ace to king.

Strategy tips

  • Keep at least one free cell open.
  • Free aces and low cards before creating long runs.
  • An empty column is more valuable than a free cell.
  • Plan how a stored card will leave before placing it.
